Anti-bias Assessment Practices Workshop

This one day workshop will explore the complex topic of student assessment by looking at current research trends in assessment, examples of how to create anti-bias assessment protocols, and tools and frameworks you can use in the classroom. We will consider both formative and summative assessment strategies.

What are the skills we look for when assessing students?
What does completion of a concept or skill look like?
How do we as teachers place value on specific ways of mastering material?
How do we make adjustments for particular students to succeed?
How do expectations influence what we assess and how we interpret student learning?
