  • Pre conference:

    • Contact with conference staff to complete school diversity priorities

  • Creating partnered spaces:

    • Kids and adults have to give-up something to create true partnerships

    • Need audits of schools:

      • What would it look like if the focus was beyond the facilities?

      • What are the milestones which show we are moving toward a more inclusive community?

      • Culture Shifts

        • Adult role

        • Student role

          • When and how to involve adults?

        • Adult responsibility

          • Understanding that teachers are not trained in these areas

          • Tools for identifying and interrupting behavior

        • Student responsibility

        • Missions

        • Administrative role

  • Before:

    • Level playing field (check adultism at door)

    • What are the relationships between students and teachers?  Teachers and administrators?

  • During:

    • Partnership

    • Reflection

    • Meeting with students and faculty:

      • What does partnership look like at your school?  

      • What would you like it to look like?

      • What can/should be built upon?

      • Design:

        • Meet with mixed groups from schools
